Library & Research
Welcome to the Library
"When in doubt, go to the library." J.K. Rowling
The mission of the Deer Creek Middle School (DCMS) Library is to provide space and resources for students to create, collaborate, think critically, do problem-solving and become lifelong learners.
Mrs. Zanetti and her team of TAs are happy to help you find a good book and support you with Chromebook issues.
Book Checkout
Throughout the year, students will have the opportunity to come to the library with their English Language Arts (ELA) class to check out books. Students are also welcome to come before and after school, during lunch recess and during Base Camp to check out books.
Students can also put a book on hold. A Library TA will bring the student a book when it's been checked out to them.
Library Policies
- Students can have four books checked out at a time
- The checkout period is three weeks
- Students can go through the catalog to renew their books or visit the Library and their books will be renewed.
To add favorites, put books on hold, renew or search for a book, visit the Library Catalog and log in using the Jeffco login button
Letter to parents
We would like to take this opportunity to describe the library collection in our middle school and explain how you can keep informed of the books your child is checking out from the school library.
As students move from elementary school to middle school, they have access to an expanded, more diverse and more mature library collection to serve the needs and interests of our middle school students. You may want to have a conversation with your student about choosing books that match both your child’s maturity level as well as your family’s values.
Log into Deer Creek’s library system using your student’s ID number and password. You can click on your student’s name in the upper right-hand corner to find information about what is currently checked out, holds, and a history of what your child has borrowed from the library. If you would like more information, please contact our school’s Digital Teacher-Librarian, Karrie Zanetti, for assistance.
We look forward to continuing to support your child’s curricular and independent reading choices.

Printing
You can now print from your Chromebook. Learn how to print and review your Papercut account. Note: There is an extra step to print in color.
Digital tools
Visit the list of digital tools your student may use while at Deer Creek. This list is ever-changing as we stay current with technology that is appropriate for our needs. Please refer to this list often.
